Pinhole FlowersPinhole Photography by Marcia TreigerPinhole Photography gallery was created by using the pinhole camera to create these images was challenging and at the same time exciting. My motivation in making pinhole photography pictures of flowers, a familiar subject, was to create a uniquely personal interpretation that would cause the viewer to find new information about flowers. By using the pinhole camera, I could achieve a perspective not easily obtained with conventional lenses. The point of view is from a flower looking at another flower, or a fly that has just landed on a petal. Using the pinhole photography method makes the experience unpredictable and a bit mystical. I cannot see what the pinhole sees, I can only imagine how it will interpret the information. It is this element of chance and the surprise in seeing the pinhole's translation are the qualities that draw me to work in this manner. |
